Ride The Wave

The Nantucket Regional Transit Authority has unveiled its new name and image "The Wave". Residents and visitors participated in a contest to help re-brand the system, and the winning entries were submitted by Ruth Anne Biggs, Bruce Miller and Pat Kleinert.

NRTA is also introducing a number of exciting improvements to the system for the 2011 season.

  • A FREE "Where's My Bus" application that provides an animated map with the location of each bus on the Web or via a smart phone or Blackberry. Go to  live.nrtawave.com to download or scan the QR code below with your smartphone QR Scanner.  Riders can watch the bus icon travel along each route in real time and check the arrival time at their stop by tapping the dot representing it on the map.
  • A new website that offers easy access to comprehensive information about the system www.nrtawave.com
  • A rider-friendly brochure providing extensive information about the system and other points of interest on the island.
  • The addition of two hybrid buses to the NRTA fleet.
  • New bus shelters at two major bus stops.

We are very pleased to have collaborated with NRTA to make the system even more rider-friendly and are excited that the new look, the hybrid buses and the free smartphone app could all be launched this summer.
